Basalt stones for hot stone massage

Hot stone massage

People who don’t like strong massages will especially appreciate the hot stone massage, as the pressure applied during the session varies from light to medium.

This is a unique massage therapy and its effects are unparalleled by any other technique. By acting directly on the body’s temperature, it will increase its vitality.

A sense of inner calm is procured and negative energies are dispelled during the experience. It will provide a feeling of harmony and generates a sensation of well-being that continues long after the session ends.

What is a hot stone massage?

Many cultures use hot stones to relax muscles and relieve body tensions. Basalt pebbles of volcanic origin are used because of their ability to retain heat.

Pre-heated in water between 45°C and 60°C, the pebbles are placed either directly on the skin or on a towel covering the skin. Placed along the acupuncture meridians or on the chakras, the stones help to release stress. The body relaxes completely during the experience and releases all muscle and joint pain.

How are the hot stones used?

The stones are placed on the back, along the spine. They can also be placed in the palms of the hand, on the abdomen, under the soles of the feet, between the toes, under the neck, etc.

The longer their application, the deeper the penetration into the muscle tissue and joints.

To finish, a few light strokes and kneading movements relax the areas that remain a little tense.

The benefits of hot stone massage

The hot stone massage therapy will eliminate toxins and strengthens the immune system.

And this treatment has also many other benefits:

  • deep muscle relaxation
  • stimulation of the lymphatic functions allowing the elimination of toxins
  • better oxygenation of the tissues
  • dissipation of the feeling of fatigue
  • improvement of blood circulation
